Careful no-show follow-up

Put missed appointments in an open work list and record the outcome, without automatically blocking future bookings.

A consistent and visible process for missed appointments

A no-show usually requires more than a different appointment status. The team needs to know which patient and appointment are involved, decide what follow-up is appropriate, and record the outcome. Tempo Booking therefore places missed appointments in a separate work list without automatically blocking future bookings.

From confirmed appointment to open follow-up

An appointment can be registered as a no-show only after it has been confirmed and its scheduled start time has arrived. This keeps a clear distinction between an appointment that is still due to take place and a patient who was not present at the agreed time.

As soon as an employee marks the appointment as a no-show, Tempo Booking automatically creates one open follow-up for that missed appointment. The original appointment remains recognisable and its patient link stays intact. The team does not need to create a separate item or re-enter its essential context.

The open follow-up appears in its own work list. Missed appointments therefore remain visible between registration and completion, separately from the ordinary calendar view. Employees can open the item with its linked patient and appointment and use that context to decide which human next step is appropriate.

Context and outcome stay with the correct item

Once follow-up has started, an ordinary appointment change cannot replace the linked patient. The action remains connected to the person for whom the no-show was registered. Even if the schedule changes later, the team can still understand which missed appointment the follow-up concerns.

The work list separates open and completed follow-up. To complete an item, an employee records the outcome in the required resolution note and then closes it. A no-show therefore does not disappear from view before the team has documented how its follow-up was handled.

An open no-show follow-up does not automatically block a later booking. Tempo Booking records the missed appointment and its follow-up, while leaving the practice to assess each situation individually. The list supports a consistent process without imposing a general decision about the patient's future appointments.

Practice example: a patient does not attend

A confirmed appointment reaches its scheduled start time, but the patient does not attend. An employee marks the appointment as a no-show. Tempo Booking then creates one open follow-up in which the existing patient and appointment context remains visible.

A colleague opens the item from the work list and can immediately see which patient, service and appointment are involved. After taking the appropriate action, the employee records the outcome in the required resolution note. Only then is the item closed and moved from open to completed follow-up.

If the patient wants to book again in the meantime or later, the open item does not prevent that automatically. The team can review the missed appointment and recorded follow-up before deciding what is appropriate in that situation. The history stays recognisable without Tempo Booking applying a general booking block.
