Self-service cancellation within your rules

Give patients a personal cancellation link while your practice decides whether and how long before the appointment self-service cancellation is available.

Back to all possibilities

Less manual work while retaining control

  • Enable or disable self-service cancellation per practice
  • Set a minimum notice period before the appointment
  • Only allow requested or confirmed appointments to be cancelled
  • Use a personal link that does not remain valid after the appointment

From practice rule to valid cancellation

  1. Decide

Enable self-service cancellation and set the minimum notice before the appointment.

  2. Share

Tempo Booking can include a personal cancellation link in appointment communication.

  3. Verify

The link, appointment status and notice period are checked again before the appointment is cancelled.

Your practice rules remain in control

Self-service cancellation works only when your practice has enabled it. You also choose how many minutes or hours before the start a patient may still cancel independently.

After that cutoff, the appointment remains in place so your team can assess the situation. Employees retain their operational options for handling the appointment.

A personal route to the correct appointment

The cancellation link is tied to one patient, practice and appointment. Tempo Booking checks the link again when the patient opens the cancellation page and when the cancellation is confirmed.

Only an appointment that still reserves capacity and falls within the notice period can be cancelled through this route. An outdated or invalid link is therefore not processed silently.
